Health Screenings

Our longtime partnership with the College of San Mateo’s nursing program has enabled us to continue our annual church screenings, which include administering flu shots and checking blood pressure, cholesterol, and glucose at nearly 20 churches. In the last two years, three new congregations began screening programs at their church.

The church community has been invaluable to the scope and reach of our health screenings. Without the partnerships we have developed with local churches, we would not be able to effectively reach the people who need our help. We are grateful for the enduring support and assistance of the following Bay Area partner churches:

  • Abundant Life Christian Fellowship

  • Community Church of East Palo Alto

  • Faith Missionary Baptist Church

  • Jerusalem Baptist Church

  • Macedonia Church of God in Christ

  • New Sweet Home Church of God in Christ

  • Open Door Church of God in Christ

  • Pilgrim Baptist Church

  • Pilgrim Community Church, San Francisco

  • Providence Baptist Church

  • St. James AME Zion Church

  • St. John Baptist Church

  • Second Baptist Church, Redwood City

  • Trinity Baptist Church, Daly City

  • Trinity Baptist Church, San Mateo

  • Union Star M.B. Church

  • Westside Church of Christ

In partnership with Mills-Peninsula, BACHAC administers the Community Mammogram Program, which offers free screening mammograms to uninsured women. In 2018, BACHAC assisted 116 women last year that otherwise would not have access to this life saving diagnostic tool.
